My experiences with MS so far.....

Hi my name is Clair.

I got married in October 1992 unaware of what was lurking just months away.

I started to get pins and needles in my right leg and blurred vision. I feared the worse as my mother and grandmother both suffered with MS.

I was signed off from work for a few months but I felt so much better so I went on holiday to Kefalonia. I returned from holiday feeling very poorly. The doctor sent me off to Addenbrooks. They diagnosed me as having Relapse and Remitting MS.

My first thoughts were “why me?” but I knew my mother and grandmother had it and fought it off for years.

I hoped I could do the same. I managed to keep working for three years with only a few relapses.

I fell pregnant with Abigail, my daughter, in 1996. I felt great, well as great as you can feel, during the pregnancy but once Abigail was born I had a real terrible attack, which left me disabled.

Because of this my husband left me. Recon he couldn’t hack it!

Now manage to lead as normal life as possible with the help of my parents and Nero care.
